pilot bearing replacement?

i have been told to fill the inside with grease and get a bolt that is just small enought to barely fit in the hole and knock it in a few times then keep packing it full of grease and continue. what happens is the grease has no where to go so it start to push the bearing out.

sometimes that works sometimes it doesnt....if the pilot bearing was lightly greased around the outside when installed it will probably come out that way, however it may be siezed and that method wont work. You'd be better off renting a puller and a slide hammer at autozone just in case
