Pin on Cowl Hood Suggestions

When I purchased my 89 Stang it came with a 4" Pin on Cowl Hood. Has anyone had to install a pin on Cowl Hood? I am aware of where to install the Hood Pins in the front of the hood but am a little lost of where to install them in the back or is there a way that I can use the existing Hood Lifts from the stock hood . I have searched various websites and cannot find any info on a company that makes a kit for a bracked to put the rear pins on. Any information would be great to make this installation as easy as possible. Thanks Alot.

It would probably be pretty easy to make your own bracket.

Just get 2 pieces of aluminum/steel and mount it to the sides of the engine bay. then mount the pins on there.

But I think by pin on they mean you cant use the hood latch. So just pins on the front... But I could be wrong.

Thanks for the reply there is no place for the Hood Latch or a location for the Hood Brackets to attach to.

Do you know what brand of hood it is?
Checking out their web page might help.

Personally I would like to use the hinges, but 4 pins would be pretty easy.

Checking your fluids at a gas station might be a little fun though.

No it was in an unmarked box when I got it wrapped in bubble wrap. It would be too easy if I had that information. I searched all over the net and couldn't find a website that even produced the hood lol. I might see if there is some way I can rig up the hood to use the brackets so I can easily open the hood without a struggle.

ive seen a kid at my school with that on his camaro, it didnt look very fun taking the hood on and off. Especially when u put it back on you dont want to scratch up a nice paint job or anything

I thought about putting the rear hood pins on the hinges, so that you could just remove the front pins and open the hood.

It might work or it might not hold the back of the hood solidly enought.

Just a thought. I decided not to go a cowl hood unless or until the intake and air cleaner have to have it on my next engine setup.

I went against the Pin On Cowl idea and now have it for sale in the classified area of the site.

I bought a 3" Cowl Hood off of my friend for $150 so I am planning on putting it on this weekend.

I finally got my hood on this morning it is a 3" Cowl. Despite the orange peel effect and the spider cracks from the first time I closed my hood lol. It doesn't look that back. What I really love it keeps my engine compartment a good 10 degrees cooler. Below are a couple pics. The rest are on my cardomain site.

Below is the classified forum where I am selling my 4" Pin on Hood. As for the stock hood I have no idea what I would even sell it for as no one probably would want it.
