Pin-on hood help please (4 point)

I have a pin on fiberglasss hood that I want to put on my 87 convertible. It is the SVO/Cobra style with the 2 in cowl. My problem is I have no idea where to place the back 2 pins. I was wondering if anyone out there has a pin-on could you give me some pointers on where you placed your pins and how? Some pictures would be great. I know I put the front 2 in the radiator support.

Any help appreciated.

Take a couple of 90 deg flat metal connectors (for lack of a better description) for wood framing. Drill a couple of starter holes through it and on your inner fender or fire wall (I chose inner fender). Then take self tapping screws and pput it on. Then drill holes for the rods and place them on the 90 deg piece. Then drill your hood... at least that's how MyBad70 and me did it :)

No sorry I don't have any pics... I changed hoods and threw it all away. Yes you do remove the hinges... just 2 bolts a piece :nice:

Yea those pieces I refer to for wood are about 3" x 4" and the same on the other sied and really thin... gottem at Home Depot or Lowes and they have about 4 small holes in each side

Why would it matter if the hinges hing? I mean, the hood is pinned on in the front...

I would just pin it to the hinges and the rad support... Then I could just remove the front pins and use it like a regular hood?

Pin on hood doesn't have the support piece for that.

I think I follow you and I thought of that as well. But I am sure there would be some rattling and noise coming from a set up like that. The fiber glass hood is very light. and the hinges are kinda loose and jiggle around. So on the freeway that can be a pain. Unless you weld the hinges as stated earlier.
