Seems like its back... having some fun tonight and noticed at WOT in 4th gear, around 3500+ RPM it starts to ping, stop a little, and come back. Kind of ruined the fun aspect.
Im running 87 octane, but there is no tune on the car or anything... just an intake an X pipe.
Mine has always pinged since new on 87, but i kinda figured it's due to the slight compression bump in '01 putting it right on the edge of needed 87 and 89 octane.
It only does it rarely in the hot days of summer, so i just run 89 then, but run 87 the rest of the year
Mine pings with 89 octane, I put in a 2003 GT engine. Been looking for ways to fix it, I've tried getting gas at different places but no change. I usually get tip-in ping when I hit the gas, or when the revs are low accelerating in a high gear. I'll try the seafoam before I do my next oil change..
