I am new to the forum, and have read hundreds of these pinging problems. Let me start by saying I have a 1999 v6 automatic mustang and I have a serious detonation problem, I have tried all octane fuels and I'm pretty sure the problem started after I changed my spark plugs the first time with autolites. I have just changed them again with Motorcraft platinum plugs with a .054 gap on all and the problem still persists.. I cleaned the maf with maf cleaner, cleaned the throttle body, I haven't seafoamed the intake yet because I just got the oil changed. I need help, I drive this every day and I don't want my convertible baby to die on me! Oh and I bought a new pcv valve and changed it, no bleeder or oil can but it still pings. Please help me guys I'm bad with cars. Thank you so much!!
