About 2 months ago my car started pinging real bad under heavy acceleration. I have new plugs and wires, just gapped them all to the right spec. I have a new air filter and I cleaned the maf and temp sensor, and checked all the fittings for possible air leaks. I tried premium gas as well and no luck.

However, my gas neck filler grommet (the one between the filler neck and tank) is torn and spilled gas. Would this leak lead to anything harmful or does it not affect fuel pressure directly?

The fuel is pressurized after the pump IIRC, so a leaky filler neck shouldn't do anything as far as I know.....

Have you tried pulling the codes? You mentioned you cleaned your maf, but if it's bad, then that won't do anything. When my maf was going bad, I did everything I could to get rid of the pinging and get my power back, but nothing worked until I realized my maf was bad. Pull the codes.
