Alright. First of all, I'm sorry but this is MY 1987 Toyota pickup, not my stang, although it needs a pinion seal too:D

Alright, so i marked the pinion nut before i took it off so i would know how much to tighten it back. I replaced the seal, then i put the flange back on, and then the nut. Well i could not get it to get back to the mark! So i put some muscle into it and moved it a little but not where it was supposed to be. AHHHHHHHHh stupid me i forgot the washer!!!!! So i put the washer on and then re-tightened the nut and it's snug and lines up ok now. My question is, is it possible i may have over crushed the crush sleeve? I didnt use an impact, just a 1/2 drive ratchet. It isn't leaking and isnt making any noise from rear end. (yet anyway) What do you guys think?

well it would't even tighten to the mark without the washer. It needed to go about half way back around, and if i loosened it up to match it was too loose. But with the washer on it matched right up then i tightened it about 1/4 inch past the mark as a friend told me to do. I hope it dosent gernade!

hahaha But it's not noisy yet and i hope i didnt screw up the preload.
