Before tearing into the 351w I figured it would be best to clear my head and work on a fresh project. So in one day Amanda and I set up little work stations for each front suspension part. Everything got cleaned, sand blasted, new bushings/ball joints(upper and lower).

I also swapped from the 9" 4lug pinto rotors to new ones for a 77 granada. These are 11", 5lug and use the same bearings and spacing as the pinto. I bought adaptor plates to use Gm "Metric" calipers from 80-87 malibu, cutlass, grand prix etc. The only thing left is to pick a much longer brake hose that fits that caliper. When turning short that hose seems to hit everything in all directions.

I also managed to trade work for some weld Prostars and tires so the front should be completely done now.

Another huge thing....A friend of mine was bored at work today and made a stainless steel box upper intake and mounted my supercoupe t-body. Its a little tall but he says he'll compensate next week when he makes the lower.

I had to get this car capable of rolling so this same guy can take the car to his place. The cage has to be cut out, cleaned up and welded back due to some horrible welds from the previous guy. I plan to get this car NHRA certified to run faster than 9.99 in the 1/4 and 6.49 in the 1/8th.

I'll get some pics of this thing in the morning.
You can expect to see a bunch of Stinger Performance parts on this one in the near future. It should be kind of wild.

Just so everybody knows my 21st birthday is this week. PM me and I'll let you know where to send the parts or money.

if these don't load let me know

All of this started when a friend came up to the garage when I was gutting a stock upper. He laughed and took everything I had done so far and came back with a decent stainless steel box upper. We used that as a rough guide to make the one below and a little bit ago today he brought #3 by, which is a big improvement again, including the threaded pressure ports. All thats left is the throttle linkage tabs.

here's the 2nd version before being polished Notice the angle cut for the T-body bracket. That lets it easliy fit under the stock pinto hood.

Here's the same but after amanda polished the crap out of it. Love ya!

Here's the latest

and again

He is going to make a box lower that clears the dist. tomorrow.
We are also moving the engine back nearly 4 inches, so it will be a pile of stuff being made for this car.

I changed the addresses on the first pics IF they work now they will be sort of big.

Here's the suspension. All thats left for that is to get a set of shocks and make susp. travel limiters.

Its sitting down on the pro stars now and its starting to really look like a drag car.

We are making a list of cutting, welding, and rearranging parts.

#1 The entire cage so far is coming out, getting cleaned up and stick welded back.
#2 The firewall is getting cut out flipped around and welded back to allow engine clearance.
#3 The engine is being pulled back 4".
#4 Making a removable trans tunnel.
#5 Relocating trans crossmember mount.
#6 Cutting repairing a rusted out floor pan
#7 Cutting out the spare tire pan and mounting fuel cell.
#8 Installing 31" ladder bar rear suspension
#9 figuring out a wheely bar set-up (new one to me)
plus welding sheetmetal over the gas tank hole, antenna, wiper holes, etc.
#10 installing steering column with removable steering wheel.

He says we should have this done by the beginning of next week.

Also I will be selling the first two intakes if anybody is interested let me know. The welds and angles have been revised on the first two so they are smooth now too.
He's also making ones the go over the valve cover and will mount like stock. That way you anybody with any hood could use it.
