On my Mustang 5.0, I replaced the PIP sensor and the car runs a little rough. When I hook my scope the wave pattern isn't nice and squared, its not steady and jumping all over. When I disconnect the spout the car seems to run better and the square wave pattern is much better and squared. What could the problem be? Why is the pip signal better with the spout disconnected and bad when connected? Any ideas?

Have you dumped the codes?
Dump codes sticky.
Look at the top of the 5.0 Tech forum where the sticky threads are posted. One of them is how to dump the computer codes. http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-for...codes-from-eec4-in-86-95-5-0-mustangs.889006/ I highly suggest that you read it and follow the instructions to dump the codes.

What kind of scope did you user?
Did you use internal or external trigger?
If you used an external trigger, where did you pick up the trigger point?

I checked for codes and there are none. I'm using an old Snap On Vantage and I believe i'm using internal trigger.

No code 11 (two flashes when the computer dumps the codes)? A perfectly functioning system will always get a code 11, it is the everything is OK code. The 11 code is computer passed its internal self test.
If you don't get an 11, you have computer or wiring problems.
Please check and repost.

Yes there is code 11 and no other codes. I check for continuity on the spout wire and power wire and it is good
