I have a trusted mechanic install a new distributor for me because the PIP sensor was going out on me. Well after a few months I am getting the code for the failure of PIP sensor. Any ideas of why I would be getting that trouble code? The only thing I could think of is that he did not clear the codes but I doubt he would forget to do that. The problem I am having is that when driving or accelerating my stang the RPM's will drop down to zero than go back up. But it is getting more and more frequent. Anybody know what the hell is going on with my stang? Thanks for any suggestions.

clear the codes yourself... just unplug the battery in the car and turn on the headlights to make sure it's drained. Then you'll know if the code is current or not.

That issue very well could be a PIP failure again.

Ask him if the dizzy (if reman'd) is lifetime warranty. WHen some rebuild places get a dizzy in (from a core exchange), if the PIP tests out alright, they leave it.

Good luck.
