pistons and rods 5.0

I want to get rid of my flat top pistons in my 86 5.0 so I can install a bigger cam and better breathing heads on my 302. so I had this idea maybe I could go to the local wrecking yard and yank some rods and pistons out of a newer 302. Then I would put them in my motor in my car and toss my old rods and flat top pistons. I would diffenitly buy new rod bearings new rod bolts and piston rings. Would this work?

i have a almost zero mileage explorer motor in my garage that was used to teach on the the local vocational school that i was trying to sell the rotating assembly out of. i picked it up for the gtp heads and saved the block for a future stroker project. you might be able to find an explorer motor an use the short block an or heads/intake. i don't know what kind of pistons were in the explorer motor but they are notched.

I would love to buy some after market pistons but unfortinate I have allot bills to pay so Im trying to figure out the cheapest way to get notched pistons. I cant afford to have a shop put pistons on my rods. So I figured if I yanked some rods and pistons from a donor motor and basiclly take my rods and pistons out and put those in. Im sure it would be fine. I was worried if the engine would be out of balance.
