Hey everyone I got the motor pulled and started taking it apart and I found the number 8 piston head was broken in pieces(yay me).

So anyways I was wondering if there is any good piston heads for the a 302 block that'll match with GT40p heads? And is the Ford Performance E303 camshaft any good?(The teeth are chipped on mine).
Also if I decide to bore the cylinders to a 306 should I just buy the Summit rebuild kit for 300 that comes with the oil pump and new piston heads for the .030 upgrade?

I'm taking the block to get honed and machined and all that good stuff soon.

Also screw mechanics who break things. They stripped my pickup tube into my oil pump and broke the oil pump

You may want to look into a 302 short block. You may find its about to same price if not cheaper when taking into account all the machining costs + the new bearings, rings, ect......

I was either looking for a short block or was thinking about upgrading to a 331 stroker engine

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Putting a 331 under a set of GT40p heads is money not well spent. If this is a naturally aspirated engine, get a set of SpeedPro .030 over pistons, they are like $200 for a set of 8 on ebay all day long. Turn the crank if necessary, new bearings, resize the rods, bore and hone the block. Try and find a Steeda #19 or #18 cam (#18 if you are willing to put a chip on the computer, #19 if you don't). Much better for those heads.

351 is a lot more money than a 302. Sounds like the OP is not in that price range.

Upgrading to a 331 as stated would be close to doing a budget 351 build, more expensive actually depending on the 351 used......

If you add the nickel and dime parts, a 351 is always more money.
