I currently have the Mach 460, but am not all that impressed. The deck was shot when I bought the car so I picked up an Eclipse CD3200, with appropriate adapters..that works fine, but the display has started bugging me, so I am going to replace it with the CD5030 when it comes out next month.

Now, I've done the loud bass thing in the past and want something clean so this is what I'm thinking...

JL Audio ZR570-CSi 5x7 separates in the front doors
JL Audio TR570-CSi 5x7 coax's in the rear deck
JL Audio Stealthbox
Audison VRX 6.420 6 Channel
4 channels of the VRX would run the doors, the other 2 would be bridged for the sub
@4ohms it would be 4x75 + 1 x330
the rear deck would be run off the Eclipse head unit
And ofcourse deaden the car well

thoughts?

Unless you are planning on entering in sound competition and going for a high RTA score I wouldnt bi-amp the doors. Its wasted power. Bi-amping is only benificial if you are gonna run outboard x-overs and a sophisticated eq. You have chozen some really high end components for the front, they are over $450a set. If you are gonna go that route then I would reccomend getting the 6.5" speaker set and running 6x8 adapters. The JL Z series has a nice sound but require a lot of EQ to not make the highs so harsh. They have a slight dip around 7K and have a peak at 12k hz so on a basic bass/mid/trbel setup they kinda lack in sq.

Round speakers have better midrange sound then oval speakers which is why I reccomended the round versions.
I personally prefer Boston Acoustics and would select the Boston "Z" series over the JLs.

I would let the Audison run all the speakers as the internal amps on Eclipse decks isnt that hot and since the Audison is so clean it would just add THD and drop the SN ratio if you used the Eclipse decks internal amp.

Otherwise if you really like the JLs then as I said the only things I would do different is 1. Run the amp for the front/rear/sub and put the 6.5" components instead of the 5x7 versions

Should be a very detailed and accurate sounding system. IMO the JL W3 and W1 have better sound then the W7 they just dont have anywhere near the output

Thanks for replying!!

I get what you are saying about the 6.5" round components and will check out the Boston's, would you then use Boston for the rears as well?

Also, if I use the Audison for Fr/Rr/Sub at 4ohms that 75x4 + 330x1 is the 75 per channel enough to run those Boston's?

I really appreciate your response and I've heard suggestion that I should also consider making a box for a 10w3 instead of using the Stealthbox, what do you think?

Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
