Here is what i am experiencing with my Mustang. First the car use to pull to one side a little when i first got the car. The steering wheel now has a loose area of play in which the steering whell moves back and forth before there is any wheel movement (4" - 6"). So my first thought was that the Steering box could adjust (Cant), the car is an 1987 GT Mustang. Trying to figure which way to go, a bud of mine said he thought it to be the Tierod Ends, but when you jack the car up and shake the wheel you can see the steering arm that goes into the Rack and Pinion actually moving. Does this mean that the rack and Pinion is gone or would changing the tierod ends fix this problem. Also is it worth repairing the Rack and pinion or should i just replace it?
