please help!! c4 trans not working

ok i went to the track yesterday. before i went i had fluid in my tranny. i went to take my first run and i could not even complete it. 1,2, & 3rd are no longer their. it is a c4 competition tranny with about 1,000 miles on it. reveerse still works. i check the fluid and it was bone dry. could this have killed my converter? what went wrong with the trans internally? what would i need to repair the trans? what kit do you recomend? any help is appreciated.

You need to find out where the fluid went. Get under it, fluid should be all over the place. You may have to clean it up and fill the trans back up to find the leak. I cant see how it could have passed tech if it was leaking that badly. Anyway, once the leak is fixed and you re-fill it, being carefull not to overfill you will know if your trans is fried or not. It will prolly be OK. The C4 is pretty tough. I would go and get it flushed and changed again to be safe. There is likely some burnt fluid in there that needs to come out to ensure a long life.

Is it still leaking? Reverse works, but no forward gears? I am no trans tech, I would call around to some tranny shops and run it by them. Diagnosis of auto trans problem is not my thing. If it doesnt work, I check for obvious things and then out comes the trans and off to the shop it goes. Good luck to you. Maybe try calling to folks you bought it from first and see what they are willing to do for you. Also, who installed it? It is prolly their fault the fluid leaked out of it. that is what causes severe damage, running with no fluid.

i had something like that happen to me in a bronco 2. i just got it and knew it needed a rebuild because R did not work and it shifted a little hard and delayed. well that same day i was driving down the driveway in D and all of a sudden it jerked me forward and i started going backward with the shifter in D. it would not go forward now but only in R. the shop said it had to be totally junked. it had a cracked case they said. i really don't know what they did but it worked when i got it back and i loved the 4x4.
