Im haveing a lot of trouble getting through this disaster. Heres how it started. I started my car one day and it died out. I saw smoke comeing up from under the hood. I quickly jumped out and popped the hood up and saw that the wire was burnt out for the ecc. so the car wasnt getting fuel or spark. I replaced the wire with a fusible link but every time i start the car it burns out the fuse. I checked all of my connections and everything is solid. i went over the wire with a tester to see if their were any breaks in the line. I fallowed it back to the alternator. After i took the alternator off i saw that some wires were bent at an angle that looked as if it was causing the problem. I unbent them and reasembled everything and the car started right up. I took it for a testdrive around the block and it died right out on me. Im scratching my head and frustrated, it's a 91 mustang w/ a 95 motor and ive owned the car for 2 months.

Wires aren't just wires, they are color coded to help identify what they do. They have a main color and a color stripe. Without the color codes in your problem description, there is no way to tell what is the source of your problem.

its a yellow wire off of the ignition, today i took the clip off the alternator to make sure it wasnt the alternator since it was getting very hot. It started up and then stalled out after i took off an let off the clutch. Theirfor i thought something was hitting the clutch and grounding something out. But i checked under the dash and everything was okay. It drives for a little before it blows the fuse

Just curious is the yellow wire off the starter relay a ground wire? I tested it w/ a pwr/ground test light, their was no power but it had ground. I also changed the fusible link w/ a straight power wire ( since it was constintly blowing fuse's) and it burnt up the wire.

You might have a dead short in that circuit. This is why your test light tricks you into thinking that the wire is a ground wire.

AND PLEASE DON'T SCREW AROUND WITH REPLACING CIRCUIT PROTECTION DEVICES WITH WIRE. You need to track down that short and fix it, preferably without even reconnecting power to the circuit again. You will end up dissecting each branch of the circuit.

Good luck.

a repeat of my previous post is in order...
