My 83 GLX has starting problems. I replaced the solenoid, but no go. I went out this AM to start tracking down the real problem. When I pulled the hood release -- nothing happened!! It was replaced last year, so I can only assume it came loose at the latch. I can't open the hood now. AARRRRGGGG!

While searching the forums I saw where folks are disinclinded to post that info on line. A note with instructions would be VERY helpful. My email is (without the NOSPAM) DonBNOSPAM@OhioBikers.com

Thanks!!

Just slide under the car with a flashlight. You should be able to use a screw driver to release the mechanism.

Thanks!

I'll try that. Of course it has been raining all day now, so I guess I need some foul weather gear!

Is it a 'knuckle buster' or is there room to maneuver?

I have nothing productive to add!

You don't need anything other than your index finger, and it's easy to get at. Once you get underneath you should see the tab that the cable attaches to -- just pull it as if the cable was and the hood will pop.

Whoa! Need an index finger like Superman!!

You were right. Pleanty of room to work with. The cable had come loose and all I had to do was drop the end back in the notch.

Thanks! I appreciate it. Now, on to the starter and solenoid problems...
