Please help on compressor decision

I am an electrician. The black and red are the hots. The white is the nuetral. The bare wire is the ground. You need 10-2 wire if you use romex for the cord and you use the black and white for the hots. If you use an extension cord or SJO cord, you need 10-3, as it is rated by the number of wires in it.
SJO cord is a heavy duty, very flexible cord that can take a lot of abuse.
By the way, so you know, #12 wire is rated for 20 amps, #10 for 30 amps.
Anymore questions, let me know. Also, they are right, you can never have too much compressor. I have an 8.5hp, 80 gallon campbell hausefield.

You will also need to buy a male cord cap for the cord. It is a cord end with no wires leaving it. Take the cap apart . The black and white wires will be your hots.
They will connect to the two straight blade terminals on the cord cap. The rounded terminal is your ground. The green wire will go there. Typically, the screw head where the ground goes is green and where the hots go is gold in the cord cap. Where the white would go if you were using it is a silver screw head. You can take your dryer plug out to verify it is connected like this. You will not use the nuetral terminal. In the pressure switch, you will need a connector for the cord (you can use a romex connector that has a threaded end ). According to the link you provided, the to hots will connect to the line side of the pressure switch. One wire on each terminal. More than likely, there is a green screw that the green wire will go to. Depending on how it is in the compressor, there may be a lug to connect the to. But also, you could need a yellow fork or round end crimp stake on for the green wire. I hope this helps.

Well I picked it up today..I got the one from lowes. I took the sheet on the husky from home depot(hundred dollars cheaper) and they price matched it..The kobalt has better cfm ratings. I also picked 10/3 sjo and have teh plug hooked up. I just got to get a few friends to help me unload it!!! Thanks for all the help and advice!!
