I have a 96 GT and when ever I drive the car after it has been sitting for a bit, the right front wheel squeeks. The wheel squeeks everytime the tire makes a rotation. After driving the car for about 5 minues the squeking is either real faint or goes away. I tried pulling back the dust cover thinking that may be the problem, but it is still the same. Has this ever happened to anyone? Any thoughts?

If it was the wheel the squeak wouldn't go away after a little bit. The next time you start your car open the hood. It might be the upper idler pulley squeaking. I have that problem with mine sometimes. I just need to hit it with some WD-40.

I am thinking that maybe the noise is still there, but when the wheel heats up it has some kind of effect on it (ie bearings) Regardless I will try the WD 40 anyway. Thanks.

OK, I opened the hood and didnt hear anything. I took it for a quick spin and it started again. Hmmmm. :bang: Maybe hose down the wheel with WD40, lol. What do you think?

Hmmm....anytime I've had a bearing problem it never got quieter. But cars are fickle things. I would pull the wheel and check the bearings. WD-40 won't do any good on a wheel bearing. It needs grease.
