please review my planned mods:

I just yesterday (Friday) picked up my brand new 2006 Mustang GT. I so far have 450 miles on it (drove to Rhode Island just to test her out). I have been doing all my research her on upgrades and aftermarket parts, and was hoping to get some feedback on what i plan to do in the next 6 months. these are the mods, listed in chronological order of when i plan to do them:

1) "The E Kit" from http://rpmoutlet.com/05gt.htm#1
Which CAI option should i get? leaning towards C&L. also, why would i want ceramic headers? worth it? and is this place good or should i buy parts somewhere else instead of a package from here?
2) 20" Black Exodus Wheels
what tires should i get with these?
3) "California Dream" Ram Air or Saleen hood with hood pins (not the fake stick-on ones)
any other cool hoods you would recommend? i like low key, not gimungous
4) New Exhaust. here i dont know what i want, as i cant hear the exhaust online :( i want something that just takes the sound of the stock exhaust and makes it louder and more pronounced, but nothing crazy loud.
5) New brakes. i havnt even started to look for this one, any preferances?

while doing all this, i will be doing some other random style stuff all throughout the car. anyway, hoping to get some feedback on this.
Thanks in advance!

it will mostly just be a daily driver. might do some time on the drag when i can during the summer time, but that isnt a large concern. however, i do drive or ride across the country once or twice a year, and love to open up on the straight roads in the middle of nowhere.
but when i say daily driver for myself, i like to push my cars. i havnt had this one more than 24 hours and have taken it up to 135 on I-95, so that how i roll :)

Well, the mods look good to me, not that I'm an expert or anything. I would go with the C&L intake. It's "mostly" agreed on this forum, I think, that the C&L is of the best quality and the JLT leads slightly in power gain. If you are going to drag race at all then I would add a set of lower control arms to your early mod list These things really wheel hop bad at the line with the stock arms.
"I" (many would argue) would not go with 20" wheels. I noticed a definate change in the ride quality when I changed from 17's to 18's. You might try to find someone with 20's to give you a ride before you drop that kind of cash for wheels.
I love the california dream hood also. I have seen it in person and it looks great.
Exhaust? you're on your own there. There are few faster ways of starting an argument on this forum than endorsing a particular exhast.
Brake upgrades can be tricky. I am upgrading to better rotors, stainless steel brake lines, hawk pads, and a good heavy duty brake fluid this year. I would wait a year before sinking any cash into bigger brake kits because the Shelby is going to have 14" rotors up front and (I think) 4 piston calipers so I think a cobra brake upgrade will be a pretty good deal once the parts become available. Whew!

ceramic headers keep heat in better so that will keep your under-hood temps down, always good. I would also ride with someone with 20s before you buy them if your worried about the ride. I got a set of 20 inch Saleen rims, but they arnt on, and i dont have my car yet. But then iam not worried about ride quality, or i would have gotting the CTS i first had on order. Keep looking for rims. Have you looked at Axis rims? they have a lot of 19s.

hey odious, where in nyc are you? and about teh mods, its really dependant by what yuou have planned, me, im not taking it to the track, but i want a good exhaust note, a nice stance, and some nice wheels.. so when my car gets here im buying some wheels, springs, and exhuast. i will in the future add a CAI and tune, for a lil somthing under the hood, but not my big concern.

Mods

For the most part I had good luck ordering parts from rpmoutlet. The only goof I guess if that's what you wanna call it is I had ordered a pair of bmr lower control arms and the bushings were too small...but they sent me a set of motoblue lcas in their place to make up for it.
As far as intake...I like the JLT that I just installed, and with the custom tune from BamaChips it really woke this beast up, so I am very satisfied with their product.
For exhaust, depends on what you're looking for. I have the FRPP stingers, which are made by Borla, and sound frickin awesome, a nice low deep rumble. I also have lt headers and no cats, but I've heard a stock set up in person with the same axleback and it still sounded sweet, just not as loud as me :rlaugh:
Do you have a manual tranny or auto? If you have a manual I would also definitely recommend installing a short throw shifter. I purchased my Hurst shifter from rpmoutlet, and wow, the difference between this one and stock is like night and day, it makes shifting fun and the first to second throw is so short compared to stock.
Other than that...good luck with your mods, and keep us updated.

i just found the ROH Drift R-Competion Black rims, they come in 19x9 and 19x10, so i think i will change my wheels to those

Good choice. I have the same, but in anthracite. Take the mods slow, and one thing at a time as you may not like what something does. There is a lot of crap out there, and just because someone sells it doesn't mean you should buy it. Do plenty of research and have fun. Be careful on those 135 mph jaunts on public roads.
