I agree with this ^^^. Don't worry...if it's what you want then you're good to go. I bought a set of 95 cobra valve covers that I know I probably paid way more than anyone else would've paid. But I really wanted them, they were hard to find, and I was willing fork out the cash. So I feel fine about it. And I'm sure you have other great buys that you can boast about.

Yeah I'm real happy with them. Up till now I was wondering how I was going to use body filler on rubber, or plasit-dip. I even ordered 2 cans of Plasti-Dip, so I may try to redo the old ones.

$350.00 is more than I spent on the whole car anyway. I think it's probably the most I've thrown at it at once. One thing at a time.

When you take the old ones off, you now have a good set of windows to experiment with the filler/sand/paint process.

And if they come out good, list them for sale and see what you get. Someone out there will pay.

Those look to be just a tad worse off than the ones I bought, hence the price.

BUT... I probably would have thoght long and hard about jumping on those

I read it was some kind of flexible body filler. I'm still trying wrap my brain around using body filler on rubber.

Most flexible bumpers on cars are polyurethane.

Poly....is technically rubber. The quarter windows are prob poly as well.

I first roughed up the rubber with 280 and then used a primer that's kind of like Slick Sand, but sands nicer. Then spray a light coat of black paint and then wet sand with 600 to expose orange peel and pin holes. Repeat this process with spraying coats of primer and sanding until all the bad stuff is gone. I like to use Transtar 2 in 1 primer because it's flexible and easy to sand. Then I finished with Duplicolor trim paint.

DO NOT USE a cheap primer. I tried an self etching primer and it dried and cracked because it was not flexible. When I bended the rubber a little, it flaked right off.
