Already used the search function, didnt find an answer.

Are any companies offering a METAL plenum cover? All I could find was composite and fiberglass. I want to be able to powdercoat it the color of MY choice.

Have no clue if these are metal or not, but they offer a few more 'options' than the average guy.

Hope this helps,

The BBK cover is metal, if you can live with the giant BBK ad on the front of your motor. I'd prefer metal also, but BBK would have to pay me an advertising fee for the privilege of having one of those ugly covers on my car. What color are you planning to coat it with? I have the midwestautogear cover and it paints well and is much more sturdy than you'd think.

Jlisle01...

I saw the BBK cover, but, like you, I am not having that big ass "BBK" on the front of the plenum. That just makes it.....ugly. It is so big and so thick, that grinding it down would be too much work for a $200 plenum cover.

I own a powdercoating business and I want to coat my cam covers and a plenum cover (if I can find a metal one) anodized red....like a chrome red. Cheaper and easier for me to powdercoat than to paint.

I personally done a Ford Racing strut tower brace and actually like the look of the aggressive intake versus a smooth engine cover. I ordered a cover, will wait and see

I just got the Ford cover today, although plastic, it looks good. I plan to paint it to match the color of the car. Heck, you can't beat it for $47

Thanks, I am going to order one, it will look great while I save up for a Saleen SC. Did you install it yourself? I imagine it was easy. Thanks again.

I ordered the same cover...I think it is $58 with shipping from ford. You will need to order a stud kit which is $5 if you have an 05 or 06 GT.

Mine also will be painted to match the car.

Too bad no one makes a billboard free metal cover. I think your original idea would have been cool.

Is this the same plenum cover that comes in the optional GT Appearance Package for the '07's?

Cover ordered, nationwide backorder until 07/28, now what about this stud kit? My parts guy is still scratching his head over this thread?

do a search regarding these plenum covers. You will need a stud kit because the stock ones wont fit. From the pics, a TB spacer wont fit either.

Looks like I get to do some cutting

Sometimes I like the look with the cover, and sometimes I like seeing the runners. But it's got to trap heat and cause higher intake temps. Maybe that's why Porsche leaves theirs exposed.
