couple days ago i installed aftermarket plenum, while tightening the egr bolts the plenum cracked so i replaced the stock back on. no problem with the car running before i changed the plenum. now that i put the stock plenum back on the car is acting like its running out of gas at times, but not all the time. it will run like this for about 5 min., just sputtering and lunging like its not getting enough fuel. so far i have cleaned the iac, new gasket for iac, disconected battery, took plenum and tb off and cleaned those, re-tightened everything to spec., checked and double-checked all hoses. drove it today for about a fifteen min drive and it ran fine untill i was driving into my driveway and it started the same stuff. like i said before, the car ran fine before i had to change plenum and then change back. any suggestions

the TPS is the thing that is attached to your TB. It sounds like you had the same problem I did. Whenever I would take off at the beginning of the day it would feel like it wasn't getting gas or something like that. My problem happend not long after the LTs and quit for awhile but came back when I put my aftermarket Tb and Plenum on.. happened for two days and hasn't been back since. So I honestly have no idea what to tell you. My car only seemed to do it in the morning when it was first driven for that day

so the tps is the black wiring harness looking thing held in by 2 phillips screws on tb. i think ill drive it a couple of days and see if it stops running like ****. anyone know right off how much the tps's are. its gotta be something simple, the car run fine before the swap and now its a dog at times.

anybody got any more ideas? or had this problem also

well after using the search button, i have narrowed it down to either the iac, tps or adjusting the tps. the catch is that my car idles perfect, and all that i have read those with faulty iac,tps have rough idle as a symptom.

What did you use to clean the IAC?? The electronics inside the one i cleaned on my 94 went bad after using regular carb & choke cleaner. If you use a harsh cleaner you stand a chance of ruining the electronic internals. I replaced mine with a new one and all is good.

good luck :nice:

Is the car throwing any trouble codes? Pearl02.

i didnt think about doing that since the cel didnt come on, but i did just check it and i got code P0306=(cylinder 6 misfire). checked and cleared w dsp. so is this more than likely a coil pack went out on me, ive had a few go out in the past. i have changed the plugs w autolite coppers less than 3k, any suggestions.

This may not even be it and it may only be a coincidence to the plenum change, but have you changed your fuel filter recently or ever?

The only reason I thought of this is because you said the car drove fine on the street, but then started sputtering again when you pulled into your driveway and I assume your driveway may be slightly inclined which could cause some of the sediment to move around in the bottom of the tank.

Just a thought. I used to have trouble starting my car sometimes, but since I changed my fuel filter it seems to have eliminated the problem and I had never changed it before.

thanx for the responses guys.....before i buy anything im gonna check out the plug in cylinder 6. someone correct me if im wrong but #6 cylinder location is on the driver side, second plug from the front of the car?

going to start with the cheapest stuff and go from there :bang:

I had problems with the EGR bolts too. The guy at accufab played stupid to the whole thing :fuss:  :nonono: I took 2 or 3 washers and shortened the screws and was able to get it to seal after several attempts. The bolts just did not want to go in the right way. They went back into the stock unit very easy , but not into the accufab plenum. They need to fix that problem.

yea im pretty pissed about the whole deal with them too. i bought the granatelli piece from jegs and those bolts were not even close, and then the back half broke :bang: . i called jegs and i think they will make right with me and they are checking with the manufacturer to see if they can supply different egr bolts. now i just gotta get my car to run right :damnit:

can anyone get back to me about the location of #6 cylinder?
