A coincidence?.....I dunno, some feedback, please....
The '00 was running fine, low fuel light on a day before payday, so I sez."ah what the heck" and drive over to the Mobil station and drop 30 bucks of gas on the credit card...I figure I have gas and the Mobil fuel will help clean the system, instead of the rot gut fuel I normally get from the convienience store pumps....
I take off from Mobil, and a few miles down the road, coming from second to third, the car hesitates badly, where normally that gear change would throw my head back....I sez, "Hmmmm, now that's weird"....strange thing, it idled fine...
A day later on the way to work, the CEL comes on, I sez"OH,GREAT!!!!"
I went to the auto store after work, checked the codes, I got 1 code, PO172, system running rich...I clear it, next morning, it's on again, so I just drive it, with the hesitation until I run the Mobil fuel out....
Low fuel again, so I drop 10 bucks of rot gut fuel in, and a few miles down the road, I stand on it, and the broken neck condition is finally back!!! My baby is normal again!!!:D
I took the neg battery cable off to reset the computer, all is well again and the CEL has stayed off....
Now, what's the deal with this story....I would have thought it would be the other way around....cheap fuel, bad preformance....can anybody explain this????
{I won't be going to Mobil again, that is for sure}

Yeah, it's funny now, but for those 160 miles or so, I was freakin' :eek:
Really, the way it was acting, I was thinking they dropped E85 in the unleaded reg tank by mistake, and I got a dose....the 'Stang was REALLY weird acting...and it kind of zips me off, I always trusted Mobil to be the optimum fuel....unfortunately for them, I can't trust them now, and consequently, it ends up hurting me in a pinch......seriously, how different can Mobil and the rot gut fuel really be???

Well, it happened again, this time not on Mobil gas....so I put on a new air filter (system running rich), reset the computer and it's run about 50 miles with no CEL, so we'll see what happens next....

Final....

It's been about 250 miles, no CEL, so apparently the old filter was resricting air, even tho it "looked" clean...I even gained 3 MPG...this taught me a lesson....
