Polished Aluminum Driveshaft (PICS)

At first it started ou as sanding out the gouges the parking brake cable put on the driveshaft when the welds broke. Then I got a little carried away and now have a shiny driveshaft. I know it wont stay shiny any amount of time but oh well. I spent about 4 hrs on it and the large part of it was getting the gouges out. Heres what caused the gouges and the finished product. Anyone else ever polished their shaft?

LOL...yeah you cant beat 4 wheel drums....talk about not being able to lock the tires or brakes up. Im sure the 40 year old brake fluid isnt helping either :bang:

Should have put up a pole to see how many polish their shaft :D

I should have figured you did, but I figured youd polish it once a week or so. :)
Its nice to know that yours is still shiney....maybe I didnt do all that work in vain. I didn't polish the ends of it, mainly cause my hands were about to fall off (no pun intended)
