Polished corral on chrome hoods

Can the polished (front hood) trim piece on my 67 be used on a fiberglass hood? Seems like anyone I've seen doesn't attach this piece. I don't want to give this piece up. THANKS!

I don't think there is much there to screw it to. Nor would it hold really if you did.

If you're dead set on it, you could glass is some flat metal pieces to screw it to, or just bond it on with a good body adhesive.
