I used the Turtle Wax kit once. It was okay, but not great. Some time after my cousin got bored and used a 3M kit on them. Huge improvement.

Scratch that. (no pun intended) I thought it was a 3m kit, but looking at the pictures I could find, that wasn't it. I can't remember the brand. Maybe it was the Mothers kit. Sorry, I'm no help. I'll ask my cousin.

You can use a light polishing compound followed by a cleaner wax or just a cleaner wax.

I personally don't polish lights anymore, I like this method...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...eadlight-restoration-new-uv-sealant-idea.html

Here is how my tails turned out after a refinishing...
Before

After

Obviously the black was painted as well, but you can see how nicely the lense portion reflects and is free of scuffs and scratches.

Grab some 600 grit sand paper and wet sand the hell out of it. Then grab some 1500 and go to town until its smooth to your liking. After that, grab a bottle of the plastic polish of your liking, grab a polishing pad and polish away. If you seem to be lacking the elbow grease to polish it, stick a polishing pad on a drill and go at it that way.
