ponys for a set of weld racing rims?

there a guy that wants to trade me a set of 15x8 , 15 x 10 welds racing rims for my pony wheels and tires. the welds would need tires. and what i was wondering is there anyone on here running 15x10s on the back of there fox? i know i have to take off the quads. and im not sure on the back space on them. he also was wanting like 50 bucks to boot. the rims look nice. has a few small marks on them. what do you think about this deal.

How are the tires on the pony wheels? If they are new I would not add cash. A nice set of pony wheels with good tires will usually sell for around $300-400 A set of welds used with no tires might be worth it but you still need tires etc. You need to make sure they will fit on the rear and not stick out and look stupid.

You need tires on the Welds AND he wants cash? Screw that. I think a straight trade would be fair enough. Of course what are the conditions of the two wheels?

Does he have the welds on a car now? See how they look if he does, I had 15x10's on a 90LX when I bought it and they stuck out real bad. I took them off and sold them first thing (there was a bunch of stuff on that car that had to go!). If they have the right offset maybe they might fit right, but I don't know. If they will fit, I would do the deal straight up, no cash, unless your tires are less than 50% and the welds are real nice.

I have welds on mine,running 8' on the back,4'' on the front.you could use the 8" on the back,don't think they would look right on the front,I tried running 6" on the front but couldn't get the right back spacing and they looked like ass.Still have them in the garage collecting dust if anyone is interested.Not sure about running the 10" on the back with mini tubs and correct back spacing.Had to remove quad shocks and clearance inner fenderwells(ala 2# sledge) to get the 8's to fit without rubbing.

I ditched my welds in favor of ponies.

Why? Sure it was cool to have tubed and screwed ET streets, but I soon grew very tired of having to replace them every season. By 2000 miles they had cords showing.

I also was tired of seeing just how crappy these rims were for balancing. I've never seen a rim come out of the box so untrue in my life.

HHmm I've never had a problem with any of my three sets of welds.

Just make sure you get the right backspacing on the rear wheels. I would go for it.

yikes! that thing is hidious, haha, glad you changed it up as soon as you got it.

Look real close at the front of the car, there was a Night Rider light under the front bumper! Appearance wise the car was downright silly, but it came with a list of performance parts as long as my arm, so after I stripped all the stuff off it, it was a pretty nice car.

I was just looking at that picture and making a mental list of all the stuff I'd remove. It looks like a well-kept car just too much going on (visually).

I would say do it, ponies arent worth more than 300 bucks to 90% of people and you could sell those welds for an easy 400, its worth it definitly.

The only dealbreaker for me would be backspacing, the 15x10 will fit but only with a 6.5 inch backspace.
