Anyone use por 15 before...was planning on doing the chassis and inside the shock towers and such. I guess you can go right over rust once you scrape the flakes off...Any input?

It adheres best to a rusty surface, once all loose rust and dirt has been removed... I have my whole chassis done in it and the stuff holds up great. Just be sure not to get it on your skin, it will be there a while.

I used it all the time. It's great. Wear large gloves. It will be on there for about 1-1/2 weeks and that is showering everyday. lol

Well i see that they say BEST used on rusty surface, and they say not to use over paint becuase it will be pointless. I have minimal rust, just trying to save the car from further rust. So do i sand the underneith and por the bare metal? Or do i sand it and spray it with water to rust then use the stuff LOL

I have been painting stuff with it constantly for the past month and I think I have had it on me for a month I just did my complete underneath with por-15 it turned better then expected and is nice any shiny. I barely had any rust, as long as you prep with marine clean and metal ready you can basically put it on anything, it is even flexible

I used the stuff from Eastwood, you can paint over it for some reason if you would like.

I have minor surface rust all over the underbody. It's not bad, just flaky areas, especially in some cavitys where you can't get your hand to sand or clean. how would you cover that up? If it has dirt AND paint all around it? And where can I get this stuff? I have checked all the auto parts stores and even asked around. No one has even heard of it. Is this another Zaino like deal where you can only get it online?

It does stick best to rust. I have used it over paint and bare metal as well. It sticks to paint. You want to sand everything down just like you are gonna spray normal paint. The stuff is rock hard. If it's prepped right, it's no flaking off.

They recomened you use all 3 steps. Marine clean, Metal Ready, then POR15 paint. Make sure its at least 70 degrees where your painting.
