ported cobra as good as any other aftermarket intake?

i want a cobra intake for now but later on when i throw on some aluminum heads if i port it could it keep up?

and any real advantage to a Gt40 Intake?

its the same lower correct?

could a ported lower cobra intake flow as good as a trickflow lower?

and if u port it out could it flow to 6200 RPM?

sry for all the questions its just i want to get some opinions b4 i go and spend 350 dollars

if you have big plans, you'd be better off w/ a trick flow or edelbrock intake... cobras can only be ported so much....

The Cobra can be made to flow better than a stock Performer and right with a Street Heat - enough to feed the TW, AFR 165 and Edelbrock Heads.

The longer runers of the Cobra will beat the crap out of the TFS Street Heat in low RPM torque and power.

I'd say anything that flows 250cfm or less. That includes some of the Brodix heads.

Why do you need pics of the stock and Cobra lowers?

The Brodix 5.0 head flows about 230cfmI/170cfmE - you can get AFRs that flow 250cfmI/185cfmE for about $100 more.

Which one to buy is your choice, but the end result power/torque will depend on how you choose ALL the componants of the combo.

Good advise. Build your car for a specific goal. Don't just go trowing parts on as you get the money.

Then I suggest you go with the AFR 165/185 heads as they flow 250+cfm, and get a custom cam grinder to help you out AFTER selecting your intake and heads. That is a HEALTHY 302-306 engine. I have seen that n/a number (325rwhp/340rwtq) from a customer who I ported a Performer for - I've not seen it from a ported Cobra yet, not to say it has not been done - and I'm talkin us non-pro types as I'm sure it's been done by racers before.
