my 86 GT tonight was acting really weird when i left the house, the headlights were flickering really bad and my gauge cluster would really dim when this happened. Then the car just started to heat up faster then hell and it pegged all the way over. I lucky made it home with no problem. I popped the hood and there was no smoke, no smell, and the engine wasnt even hot to the touch it was still stone cold. The car has a completely new cooling system, Fluidyne radiator, high flow pump. My best guess is my voltage regulator on the alternator has gone haywire or the alternator is about too go or whatever. Its the factory kind too, nothing high output. I plan doing the conversion to the 94+ pretty soon but now maybe sooner than expected. Also when i'm at a stop light and with the brakes applied my fuel pump hums lower and my head lights dim until i release the brakes, and theres been a few times where i have a funny smell coming from the engine bay. So if anyone has any info on this lemme know please!
