So my a/c doesn't work on my 2004 GT and I need some assistance in troubleshooting it. Quick backstory: the a/c hasn't worked since I bought the car, which was three years ago. No clue how long it was out prior. But anywho, I get to troubleshooting it, and the compressor clutch wouldn't engage at all. Shot the wires, and (I thought) the engage signal wasn't getting to the clutch. Shot thru the high and low cutoff switches and both were good, which led me to the CCRM. Well, turns out I just didn't get the meter leads on the contacts for the plug going to the clutch, so the $250 CCRM I bought didn't change anything. Sigh. Started playing with it some more, and found out that I can get the clutch to engage by tapping on it with a wrench. So now I know the clutch is shot, but even with it engaged, I still have zero cooling. Checked the low side pressure and it was overcharged a bit, alongside the fact that lines that should be cool were scalding hot. So that's where I stand right now. I don't currently have access to a gauge to check the high pressure side of things, so I'm at a bit of a loss. Do you guys think the compressors shot internally? Or could it be a blocked line somewhere? And if it's the latter, how should I go about isolating the block? Thanks for any and all input!
