sell the stang and buy an LS1 trans am. they have 320hp and they get better mileage than an HCI fox.

and LiquidGT, im stick in the middle of hci, and new car. Yesterday me and my brother had a little chat, and in there he convinced me to get a muscle car. So im thinking of getting the LTD, removing all the emissions crap and make it a crazy beast. Its actually a better investment

I would go with the 71 LTD all the way. I you look in any of the latest Hot-Rod or like mags you will see that the forgotten body styles are now being sought out because of the auction houses driving the prices through the roof on everything else.

I think a 71 LTD vert with a 429 for 2500$ has a lot more upside than finding a clapped out muscle car for 2x that amount and needs 10x the work. Plus if you did a mild pro-tour look to it, you know bolt in air ride suspension, and 18 inch wheels you could be sure you would stand out in a crowd.

If that car was near me Id be looking at it myself.

Those LTDs even with 18s and a pro touring look is still a terrible body style. That pro touring look really only works on certain cars.

Old cars cost WAY more than fox bodies to make nice! Thats why not many people under 35 years old own a nice clean old car.

Seriously that LTD body style is bad, but that LTD convertable could become a colectors item one day, who knows. Plus anybody would look twice at it because you dont see one everyday, or ever.

yeah, i never said it was a muscle car. i just stated would trade for a muscle car. not that the LTD is a muscle car. But oh well, lets just see what happens. i need to get the gt running leaner, rebuild the tranny and then see all the options. but either way, gas is a big factor in all this. i just hope i get something worthwhile.
