possible short?? read this need help

hey guys. workin on a 97 gt. when i turn the key forward but dont start it my fuel pump has power but as soon as i hit the ignition it blows a 20 amp fuse in the box under the hood. I believe the fuse is for the eec. when the fuse goes the pump loses power and the car does nothin but turn over but wont start. any ideas?? also the theft light blinks really fast when i try to start it.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be 2 shorts caused by faulty o2 sensors. You probably have a short in your system. I took my car to an electrcian and it cost me $80. Plus in my case 2 o2 sensors. My car runs great now.
