Hey all, I noticed on the highway with the A/C on the temp guage sits between R and the M, and with the A/C off the temperature sits at the very start of R. The thermostat seems to open once the temperature reaches dead center of the R. Does anyone know if this is normal. My whole cooling system has been replaced over the last 2 yrs and there is no leaks, bubbling radiator, or oil/coolant mix. Could it be the the stock temp guage messing up? Does anyone know where I can get a good aftermarket temp guage? BTW, I am running OEM radiator .

Stock gauges suck, get an Autometer gauge from summit and know exactly how hot/cold you are running.

Your symptoms sound normal. As long as it stays in the normal range you are good to go.

To answer your question, Summit has all the Autometer gauges you could want.

You did not mention what the replaced components were (so we might assume stock stuff). A cooler rated stat (a la 180 or 170) might help keep the car from getting hot as soon.

A fan switch or two can really help in town cooling.

Good luck.
