I wanna hear some good stories of camaros gettin their a$$es whooped by mustangs. My friend has a 97 Z-28 and a 99 SS and I've schooled his Z-28 already and I just want to rub in the inevitable. (I'd race the SS too, but he says "it's not ready")
Well I raced my friend's lightly modded 98Z to 55mph once. I ran my car to 5000rpms, granny shifted it, and still kicked his butt. He was wanting a Vortech soooo bad after that.
I was a at a red light against a 2001 ss .....guys looks over with his girl and gives a cocky smile....I of course oblige in teaching him a lesson and rev to 2500 and dump it....he goes too....I pull on him hard till 3rd he is on my bumper......then I smack 4th like never before and I pull a car and a half more on him , throw on my hazards...then he pulls pver his girl gets out and gets in my car, after that it gets XXX rated.........

I think you may want to reconsider racing the 99 SS. It's a whole different ball game when going from an lt1 to an ls1.
Last camaro I raced was a 92 Z28, I was just on my way back from work when I saw a teal camaro pull out on the highway behind me. I didn't think much of it until I came up to a red light and he was right next to me. He did a short little brake-lock, and I gave him a little rev, so he knew I was interested. The light turned green, he hooked and I spun a little bit. By the end of first gear I had gotten by him and then I proceeded to put several car lengths on him up until about 80 . Caught another red light and we exchanged compliments on each others cars, and he told me he didn't think I'd beat him that bad. I just asked him if it was a 305, he replied "no it's a tpi 350". I just assumed it was a 305 cause it sure ran like one .
Some dude in an LS1 was trying to get me to race him last summer on a crowded road. He kept punching in @ 35 while him and his girl were both looking at me sort of laughing. I didn't even bother, but I looked over long enough to make eye contact as he punched it again (while they were still looking at me) and he nearly rearended the van in front of him. It was great, his girlfiend freaked and I laughed and made the light before he did.

My neighbor has an 01 SS that is stock with 305's or 315's out back. Last summer( when I had a completely stock setup with a procharger P1sc running 8 psi) I saw him going the other way down my street. I pulled in a driveway and turned around to follow. I ended up tailing him halfway across town until we were finally lined up at a red light. I asked him what he had done to his car and he said "nothing". I asked him if he wanted to run em' and he was cool about it and said o.k. When the light turned green I pulled off the best launch I have ever had. I pulled hard until third and I cold tell he was gaining on me. We both stopped due to traffic and he was like "nice one dude". I couldn't stop shaking for like an hour. It was awesome...... Until like a week later when I pulled up next to another SS when I was coming back from class in Kansas City. He beat me so bad I wanted to cry. This guy could drive and I didn't exactly nail the launch. But losing like that made me do what I did to my car over the winter.
