Car is at the body shop now
They are going to replace the entire cowl, repair the hood, repaint the hood, cowl and blend in the fenders,

I feel your pain however. The same thing happened to my car, too. I didn't have hood pins, and the body shop that installed the hood didn't install the safety catch correctly. My Cervini Ram Air hood crunched the cowl real good, but the hood itself was unscathed.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. It is pretty clean overall but it's had a repaint some time back which will need to be redone at some point. All the GT trim pieces could use some work as well.

What's to stop somebody from removing your hood pins as a cruel prank (or you forgetting again) and this happening again?
The title of this thread cracked me up given the current state of my car. My '92 was my car all through college. It's been sitting for a decade and I've finally started to do something with it. I've gotten it running and just took the wheels in for new tires. I'm going to slowly try to bring it back into decent shape. This is my first post on this forum. Hopefully the next time I post, it will look a little better.
Welcome! And I know about cars sitting at home waiting. For me, it got to the point where I needed to either junk them or fix them. As luck would have it I found what I was looking for in a station wagon. I took apart 2 mustangs to build 1 station wagon. I guess my point is, I need ‘fire’ to get things done. You can’t just tell me to get moving on those cars. I certainly hope you caught that ‘fire’. A running and driving car is definitely better than not. Fewer complaints.
That is exactly what happened. I walked past the car every day and watched it get more and more moldy. Finally, I just couldn't take it. I bought a battery and discovered it wouldn't even turn over. A new solenoid switch solved that. Then, changed the oil and replaced the fuel filter. It fired right up. I put the wheels with new tires back on and drove straight to the car wash. There is a LOT left to do. The windshield wipers are not working right, the climate control isn't working, the headlights went out while I was driving it... But, it's running and is safe for the road (during the day at least).

That's the story of my car as well. Drove mine through HS, and when I was home from college. Once I graduated, it sat 10+ years as life got in the way, and I even bought a 2003 GT new, so I forgot all about the fox. Fortunately I never sold it, and have had fun the last 2-3 years finally being able to do the mods I wish I could have done in HS
Pretty nice weather today, took it out to run some errands and saw some other car guys had the same idea. Saw a first gen Firebird, some other early Pontiac, an '03-04 Mach 1, a 4th gen Trans Am, a 60s F-series and a pretty heavily modded Lexus SC300. God bless America
