I saw your reply and thought "something isn't right here, a 2JZ is a turbo inline six Toyota engine, and he's talking about an 4 cylinder Nissan". SR20's can run pretty good, assuming you can get them to run right. All the "badass" SR20's down here seem like they are broken more then they are driven.

I like 240's, course I wouldn't slam one, and I'd probably put an LS1 in it.

I'm partial to a 280zx,.. and as a driver, I would consider owning one, but won't for this reason:

A japanese car is shunned by the domestic car guys. In other words, you cannot take even the baddest ass japanese bodied car w/ a full on serious entire mustang running gear under that skin to a show and even get somebody to look up, despite the obvious V8 rumble, and distintive turbo wheeze.

I had a Chrysler Conquest, 363 TT, R block'd Holley injected, Powerglide shifted, w/ a 4 linked, narrowed 8.8 sporting 295 Drag radials. Car made 638 WHP@ 18 psi, and I drove the thing to Nashville for that day of the Powertour. People just breezed right by me like I wasn't even sitting there.

When it came time to sell it, I got killed. It ended up going to a Chrysler guy that wanted no part of the ford motor in the japanese Chrysler, and he ended up putting a 6-71 blown 340 and 727 in it.

Those old Conquests are the business. I love the way they look. Friend of mine (the one that helped me do a bunch of the work on my 91) has a 76 280z. Car is a bunch of fun to ride around in. Reminds me of my old 73 Dart with an automatic and a /6. Wasn't fast at all, but sure was a nice cruiser.

The conquest was really a nice car. really well built, and very solid, And despite it's obvious prostreet aspirations rode really nice. The flared body panels actually allowed a pretty decent tire under it. I even went so far with the car that it had Fox struts and Granada rotors on it, ( I wanted to be able to get replacement parts)
The part I came to hate about that car (really quickly) was the air to water I/C that I mounted under the dash. That thing got to 180 after a full 18p.s.i. pass and just boiled my balls off inside after that. Nothing like a really hot aluminum box under the passenger side dash to add to the pleasant 98 degree Alabama ambient air temperature.

Ugh, that sounds like it sucked. My Dart has long tubes and no carpet. When I rolled to the track in 90 degree temps my shoes were sticking to the floor. I can't imagine having an IC in there with me on top of it. lol

This is how the latest addition to the stable sits. A 1993 Cobra, just picked her up yesterday with 75k miles.

Did some cleaning and repair today. Finished removing pass side door panel pocket and cleaned up the dash and steering wheel. Also greased the window tracks, wow what a difference that made. Don't know why the seat pics look so orange though. They are the same color as the rest of it. Must be the lighting with my iPhone. This is how it sits today.

Thank you! I was looking for a hatch like yours,or a notch. My old notch was the same color as yours. I like that red.

In all honesty, since he said it was turbo'd, Its probably an SR20DET..

...on a related note. My buddy showed up a couple of days ago since I last posted in this thread in his early-90's Toyota Supra and took me for a ride. He built up some custom single turbo set up for it using a Holden turbo what he originally told me was from a Dodge diesel? It's a 2JZ engine, with a 1JZ head (if that makes any sense). Still has some tuning to do on it, but I have to admit....it pulled hard from a roll. It would certainly smoke my 5.0L the way it sits right now. Felt like it was making low-300's to the wheels the way it pulled. Sounded good too.

Don't know about the "DET" part, but he is pushing 14psi of boost and putting down 350 whp and 290 lb/ft trq. So for a 2640 lb car with him in it it actually s**ts and gets pretty good. Not bad for 2 liters and 4 cylinders.
