88 T-Top old lady garage find updated photo.
Made a list of rare parts found or still working on car:
Silencer, chin guard, map light, ash tray, cargo cover, coil and dist. cover, lumbar, t-top covers, all manuals. Still need to figure out why cruise does not work.

Don’t start a brake upgrade on Friday the 13th.
Just upgrading my 83 to the 87 to 93 brakes.
Simple huh?
This car only had 25,000 miles on it when I got it. 28,000 now.
I guess the factory had an over abundance of blue thread locker. They put it on the caliper bolts, and the Strut bolts .
Broke 2 Star sockets trying to get the caliper bolts out.
Then here come the strut bolts.
I ended up having to use a 1 1/2 foot 15/16 boxed in wrench and a 4 foot pipe to get them loose.
Then couldn’t get the spindle away from the ball joint.
I had the wrong tool.
After 4 hours and nothing going right I gave up for the night.
At least I know what I’ll be getting into tomorrow on the drivers side.

No air tools? An air hammer on the ball joint mounting boss will help separate the spindle.

I don’t think I ever had those kind of problems removing bolts. Maybe someone had it apart before and used air tools to reinstall?

First time this has been apart since it was new.
There is no doubt about that.
I have access to a air hammer.
Just slide the bit under the spindle?
I’ll get the proper tool tomorrow to press it out.
I just had the wrong one.

I’m more talking about an air hammer bit on the side of the spindle area that sits on the ball joint stud. If you’re replacing the call joints and don’t need to worry about thread damage, you can use the hammer bit directly on top of the ball joint stud. That should separate it quick. I used this method recently when replacing ball joints on my Grand Marquis.

Ball joints look to be in good shape.
Rubber and everything looks good.
I’ll try what you said.

Engine's coming back out today. Gotta punch the oil pan for the turbo feed line. Then bolt on TKO and turbo headers and drop back in.
