After the some really low points, and then a miraculous redemption, the car was overdue to be driven. Just me, phone off, radio off, blasting through the gears on the backroads of southern Ohio. I haven’t been that happy to drive it in a very long time. Thank you to all the members of this website who tolerated my crisis with this car. I already said elsewhere that’s it’s foolish to love an inanimate object that can be taken from you. Damn it though...
I love this car.
I read this at Ron’s funeral and it was ringing through my head the whole drive...

Tis a Fearful Thing
By Judah Halevi

‘Tis a fearful thing
to love what death can touch.
A fearful thing
to love, to hope, to dream, to be –
to be,
And oh, to lose.
A thing for fools, this,
And a holy thing,
a holy thing to love.
For your life has lived in me,
your laugh once lifted me,
your word was gift to me.
To remember this brings painful joy.
Tis a human thing, love,
a holy thing, to love
what death has touched.

I know it’s been a few days, but just wanted to say I’m glad to see you out enjoying the car, having a good time! I have a lot of PD in my family (mostly retired now, and one was K9) and I have the greatest respect for what you guys do! I wish now I had chosen that path 20 something years ago, as my pride in police and country has grown stronger every day!! Stay safe, stay strong!!

I just pulled my car up to the garage. Lots of work to come but goal is to be driving by the first of the year.

I actually have the fuel door and new coyote valve covers sitting at the powdercoater now the door is going to be satin black. But red has me thinking my wife is trying to convince me to put a shark mouth decal on the sides of the car

The fuel cap should be flat black IMO.

edit: or red like a single point refuel receptacle on a jet.

Your car would be perfect for that. Then you can add some lettering as well in the military font

Plane of rotation markings for your engine compartment, "CUT HERE IN EMERGENCY" markings for the occupants, and "STAND CLEAR" for the intake and exhaust.

Out for dinner with the wife tonight in our small town of Clarkston, MI. Planning on a drive into work tomorrow with it. Our nice days are numbered in Michigan.
