Looks good.

Just got my '87 SSP to the shop where we'll be finishing the prep and spraying it in the next couple weeks. You can still see some of the FHP tan around the windows; that will gone soon.

What color are you planning to paint it. I got lucky because I ending up really liking the factory color so it was simple

I wish I could go with the factory black and tan, but it's illegal here. The plan was to just go with black. But then my friend showed me a bunch of left over paint they have in the shop and got me thinking about a dark blue they had.

I also showed my friend Reef Blue, and he liked it too. But since we're gonna be mixing it from whatever's in the shop, idk if we'll be able to pull that off.

Well, my car left the factory painted to be a marked unit for the Florida Highway Patrol. In Florida it is illegal to have a car painted similarly to the FHP paint scheme.

321.03 Imitations prohibited; penalty.--It shall be unlawful for any person or persons in the state to color or cause to be colored any motor vehicle or motorcycle the same or similar color as the color or colors so prescribed for the Florida Highway Patrol. Any person violating any of the provisions of this section or s. 321.02 with respect to uniforms, emblems, motor vehicles and motorcycles shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

The FHP even defaces the tan part of the cars before they go to auction(see crown vics below), but the buyer still has to have it painted over before it can be driven on the street.

I don't tnink so much the Black and Tan I think imitation of a police officer in which case he could do Black and Tan just no stickers or anything and if he did he would have to cover them with magnets during street use

edit - you learn something new everyday ^^^

So the FHP hasn't changed their paint scheme in 26 years?

light hammering in the rear, depending on the year some front fenders are a little larger then others i know in my 91 i have 245s and it looks like i could fit 275s with little issues.

It's actually more like 56 or 57 years. This picture shows a '55 Ford with the old markings and a '57 Ford with the current markings.
