www.turbomustangs.com www.turbofords.org

Speed costs, how fast do you want to go? A well built 3.8 can handle 600 hp. I would recommend a turbo over nitrous or supercharger if you want to go with a power adder. Turbos are more efficient than any supercharger and don't run out like nitrous. Supercoupe T-Birds have forged cranks and rods and you could probably find one in a junkyard. Do some research and find out what other people are doing.

You got a V6 right? I thought the govenor stoped them at 113 I might be wrong though. WHat I would start off with is the CAI, Underdrive pullys, NEw gears 4:10 if auto 3:73 if Manual, New chip maybe or just get yours retuned. Then if you want to go all out at a Supercharger Id do Procharger or Vortech.

CAI, true duals, UDP, gears, chip, and re-tune will make a 99+ V6 perform "about" the same as a late 80's 5.0 V8 stang in horsepower, but not in torque. If you want more than that, you're gonna have to mod the engine internals more, and add some kind of forced air induction system (turbo, supercharger, or nitrous).

In order to go faster, you need to eliminate the speed limiter which is accomplished by a new chip programmed to allow the car to go past that top speed. Everything else mentioned here, except one post, is talking about getting to your top end quicker, not increasing your top end.

HP = top speed
Tq. = how fast you get to your top speed

My question is why in the world are you going that fast on the road anyway? If you ask me that's not the smartest thing in the world anyway

i mean if your trying to go faster than 124 then just grab a chip and that should kill the speed limiter, im sure you still had some untouched rpms left.

if you want more power out of the v6 then i dont mean to scare you off but your heading down a rough path. there are plenty of options but theyre all pretty expensive and will require you to be good at working on cars or have the money for all the installs.

ok first off this is all assuming you want 300+ hp with any of the scenarios im about to tell you you are going to want the following:

-8.8 rear end(off a wrecked gt or new)
-new stronger transmission or beefed up stock tranny(new internals)
-complete set of forged internals(especially if you are running any sort of boost)
-true dual exhaust(unless your running a turbo set up, but youll need custom exhaust for that)
-better fuel injectors and likely better pump
-chip and a good dyno tune

ok now theres more but those are basics. now here is a list of popular options:

-supercharger(kits are available with most of what you need.)
-turbocharger(tma turbos sells full kits now, may be able to make twin turbo kits, any other turbo kit would have to be custom made by a shop)
-engine build(may or may not reach 300hp im not sure, we're talking heads, intakes, stroker kit, cam, valves)
-nitrous(can be combined with any of the above as well but watch out)

other people chirp in if i f'd up anything or you need to add junk
