What is power shifting and how do u do it

just hold the gas pedal to the floor and start pulling gears without letting off the gas best done with a top loader

Keep the throttle to the floor, mash the pedal and shift as fast as possible, side step the clutch and let her go! I wouldn't try to do this on the 1-2 shift though, you'll almost certainly lose traction and get a little sideways.

In time it will eat away at the syncros and if its bad enough it may even eat up some of your gears as you tend to slam them more when your power shifting.

lol, been there already! 35,000 and on my second trans, i powershifted the first on into oblivion!! stupid 3650hahaha....................

I use to powershift but not anymore. You're are bound to miss a gear eventually and when you do bye bye tranny. I missed 4th in the 99 when it was still the wife's. It can get pretty expensive. I just added more mods to substitute aggressive shifting

Yeah, so you know exactly what can happen - you have been there, done that - and it will happen sooner or later to anyone who is abusive. I can beat many cars that I probably wouldn't otherwise beat because they've been 'driven hard and put away wet'. Take care of your equipment and it'll take care of you.
BTW, I'm not sure if you're implying that the 3650 is weak, but it isn't. I know there is a 40 + page thread out here with people and their issues with the 3650, and now there is a service bulletin out for them, but the fact is in a 3650 vs the T45, stock for stock config, the TR-3650 is a much stronger transmission.

My own personal opinion, power shifting is mainly for an older ride (72 Ford F250), one you made fast but to have fun in as well. Power shifting in a newer car definently can get pricy. Old trucks are a blast with room to work on and parts easy to find (junk yards).

lol, no i just have had bad luck with this trans....
I know it's supposed to be stronger than the t-45 , and yeah i told myself no more powershifting...

Ok so one more time her efor the cheap seats...throttle full on, just slam gears,
2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6? wheni was a kid we used to do this but it was because we didnt care and the cars were POS, i thought you let up on the gas a bit to let the tranny slow just momentarly?

Powershifting is bad for wear and tear on the tranny. However, it is the fastest way to shift the car, and will give you the lowest times at the track. So its a matter of balance...Speed? or longevity?

I wouldn't powershift the 2-3 shift, you'll most likely break the tires loose.

If the owner is after longevity, he/she should double-clutch every upshift and downshift.
