Power steering hoses

Need a little help with my 70 351 Cleveland, The P.S. is working one way but not the other, also I drove the car down the drive way and the dip stick came out and P.S. fluid was everywhere.

Is there a diagram somewhere I can look at to confirm that mine hoses are on correctly?

sounds like you have one or more hoses crossed/reversed. On my 68, the hose ends for the pressure and return hoses are a different size where they connect to the control valve, making it impossible to screw up. Is this not the case for your car? Only other thought is a hose is kinked or plugged, causing a backflow affect.

Just in case it may help someone else, my lines are on correctly but I switched the ones on the control valve just for the heck of it, started the motor and of course it didn't work, swapped them back and then It started working both sides like it suppose too. I guess there was a blockage, swapping the lines opened it up.

Anyway, that solved one of my problems.
