Power steering interchangeability

Guys, while sitting there looking at the motor that came out of my car (2.3ltr) I began to wonder about something...

My current plan is to build the 302 I have, and steal the entire front end off of a junkyard car...I was thinking cougar with a 302. This would give me all the necessary brackets and such that I need (I currently have none).

This got me thinking, I'm still going to use the factory power steering rack, but most likely due to bolting/fit patterns, I'll have to use a different power steering pump. I am willing to announce that I know absolutely nothing about power steering, will I be able to use the cougar power steering pump along with my factory mustang rack?

Also, I don't believe there's a difference between V8 and 4cyl racks, can anyone confirm this?

The 2.3 and 5.0 pumps and racks LOOK similar, but they are NOT interchangeable. Use the ps pump from your 2.3, it should fit the bracket on the 5.0. Mine did.
