Does anyone elses powersteering whine? Lately it sounds alot like it's low on fluid (But it's full) and makes a fairly loud whining sound when turning the wheels and idling. It does it more when it's hot, but still does it when cold. The powersteering is definitely louder than the sound of the engine running.

I took it into the dealer and they said "We can neither confirm nor deny there is a problem." They "said" they called ford and ford told them to test it on the new cars in the lot. They told me they tested three new mustangs on the lot and they all did the same thing as my car.

Funny thing is that when I drove my car in the shop, there was another GT that drove by and there wasn't a whine to be heard.

So, they said they can't do anything because if they replace the pump and ford says it wasn't warranty, they they would have to charge me for the replacement..

I dunno about anyone else, but I call :bs:

Is it just me or has ford service always been this $h1tty? I mean every problem I have is either "normal" or cannot be reproduced when I take it in.

I've had my car in FIVE (5) times now for a front-end clunk that they can't fix. I take it in, they "fix" it, then they tell me it's ready to go. Do they not check to see if they actually fixed my car after they work on it? Funny, the 20 miles they put on my odometer every time says they have plenty of time to review their work.

So far, here's my list of issues and their response..

==>1 - 2 Grind (On my 3rd visit for this problem) --> "Yeah, they do that when their cold. You have to let the vehicle fully warm up before you drive it" :bs:

==>Powersteering Whine --> "We can neither confirm nor deny there is a problem" :bs:

==>Front-end clunk --> The service manager knows there is a problem, but they can't seem to fix it FIVE (5) visits later.. :bs:

==>Engine Ticking Noise --> I told him I can hear the sound when it bounces off of walls, fences, parking complexes, etc.. Service manager says "All I hear is the exhaust resonating through the manifolds". Then I told him about the TSB from blueovalnews and he started bashing that site and told me not to beleive everything on the internet.. :bs:

[/rant]

So, anyways.. Sorry about the rant. I just had to get it off my chest.. Now, I'm off to bring my car in for the SIXTH (6) time to get this stupid front end noise fixed. :bs:

i feel your pain. however youll be upset to hear that i find Ford's service (at least my dealer) is gold compared to the **** i dealt with at BMW. As for the clunk, you should check that your springs are proper, and that your struts are tight. The ticking could be the tsb or it could be a manifold leak. In the case of my BMW, the tick was so bad i thought the motor was blown. They insisted it was normal, and they REFUSED to start up a car on the lot to compare. thats how i knew they were full of :bs: . keep at it, go to different places to get opinions, or just live with it. theres not much you can do, and ive been dealing with so called "mechanics" for years. Nothing but headaches. Sorry to hear, and good luck.

Thanks for the words.. I really feel bad for you if your xperience was worse with BMW. That must have been some really shatty service.. :notnice:

I had a long talk with one of the managers today and he came for a ride with me. By the end of the ride, he admitted that there was something wrong with the power steering, and if I wanted them to start replacing parts, they would.

As for the front-end clunk, he said it was nothing to worry about and it's not serious. He said to just keep an eye on it, and if it gets worse, then they'll look at it.

He did seem like an OK guy, I know he was spitting off alot of corporate BS though. But it was nice to hear someone actually admit that there was a problem and they could do something about it..

I think what pisses me off the most is how people judge you as soon as you come in. Usually I can tell as soon as the service manager comes out that he's just going to blow me off. He thinks I'm just some 20 year old kid who's parents bought my car for me and doesn't know jack.. News flash Mr. Service Manager. I pay for my own stuff and make my own way..

Anyways, here's to hopin..
