What's the easiest way to remove the power steering pump? Do I need a puller to get the pulley off? It looks like it needs to be removed in order to get the pump out of the bracket.

Go to AutoZone - they'll loan you a special puller for the pulley.

Why are you taking the power steering pump off anyway? To just do some work or are you taking it off completely?

FWIW, you can remove the pump without removing the pulley.

Once on the bench you can remove the pulley and snail shell bracket.

Good luck.

The pump is leaking fluid from the front, behind the pulley. Even though the pump still works OK, I figured I'd just replace it instead of trying to repair the leak. In either case I would need to remove the pulley. Any tricks to this removal? So, I can take out the assembly first, then remove the pulley?
