i recently replaced the power steering pump on my 2000 gt. after putting the new pump on the car, the power steering pump gets extremely hot and pushes the power steering fluid back out of the power steering reservoir when i attempt to bleed/steer the wheels. i am also having problems with my brakes where they are engaged when the engine is running. is it possible that these problems are being caused by a bad hydroboost? please help!! bout ready to take a sledge hammer to the car!!!!

Were these symptoms the reason for the pump replacement in the first place? If not, what was?

It almost sounds like you've got a blocked return line and system pressure is going through the roof, resulting in the pump heating and spitting fluid and the brakes being forced on.

I'd exercise extreme caution: If a hose burst due to over-pressure, it (or parts of it) could become ballistic and do serious damage or injury in addition to spraying hot fluid at crazy velocity. Consider taking it all down inspecting everything for blockages before running it again.

I replaced it because of the same issues I am having now. I recently had the engine out of the car and thinking that maybe the return line is pinched off or something. Is there a in line filter located on the return line?
