Got this roller and got the car running and put some power steering fluid in made about 2 turns and the fluid was all over the driveway. Been driving without fluid and haven’t heard a whine or anything. I think the rack is completely destroyed mainly because the lines we capped off when I got he car. Is it safe to drive the car like this? Don’t have the change for a new rack.

Negative. The gearing in the rack is designed for assist so running it without the assist can damage it. I've seen doing such a think really mess up a rack to the point the car was indriveable and bind up.

Last think you want is that happening to you on a sharp bend

Since this was chatting about power steering thought I would ask what ppl think about this? Never seen till today but has anyone ever tried this or used one? Is it worth it? Besides not using the belt to drive it what other benefits are there?

You can probably vary the level of assist. I know in my Taurus with factory epas I can hook up the laptop and change the steering assist level.

Unsure if that kit can do it though, but a nice touch.

Really, it just allows you to delete the pump and go pure electric. Don't need much power whendrsg racing in a straight line, but then you can turn normally when street driving.

Unsure how it would hold up in autocross racing.

I'm personally not a fan. I'll stick with the pump. Cheaper and usually you have warning signs of the system failing.
