powermaster alternator question

i just got my alternator yesterday, its a 100 amp, i read the instruction but still a little confused. it told me to cut the green wire on the alternator harness and connect it to the back of the alternator where the two metal clips are at , then run a 4 gauge wire to the back of the alternator red bolt to the postive battery post. is this right and do i need a fuse inbetween any wires. oh yeah what about a ground wire is it already grounded. just want a drop in alternator and a one wire cut deal. just simple ****

The probably want you to reuse the I terminal on your regulator. This allows the alternator to 'turn on' when the key is on, rather than having to bump it up to a given start-up RPM. That's how I'd wire a 'one wire alternator' up myself.

Be sure to fuse your power cable. Do not reuse either of the OEM power wires.

Circuit protection. Fusible links can work but fuses are easier to replace, especially on the side of the road.

Fuse for the weakest link amongst the current-carrying components. This includes the charge cable and alternator. In your case, I would fuse the circuit for the alternator (the cable should be capable of handling more than 100 amps).

does summit or jegs sell something like that. so i will have to put a fuse inbetween the alt and battery post. do u have a pic i could look at to better see how to do this thanks
